SOFTWARE LIFECYCLE MANAGEMENT

More than providing just Software Asset Management, the iMX Software Catalog provides for full release lifecycle management of applications within a company.

Organizations can automate the request and delivery of software to end-users, saving time and money.  Through a “shopping cart” style interface, users can browse a filtered view of SCCM packages via the iMX Software Catalog.  Applications that are considered “generally available” in the organization may be published for request and immediately delivered via System Center Configurations Manager (SCCM).  Licensed software or applications requiring manager or other approval may be assigned an approval workflow.

Features

Correlation with SMS/SCCM Inventory Data.  All software applications in the iMX software catalog can be associated with an inventory criteria which identifies systems that have the software installed.

Software License Procurement Management.  The iMX Software Catalog provides a system for recording and managing license purchases for licensed software application.  Software license counts can be compared against assigned license counts and total number of deployed instances.

Assignment of Individual Licenses.  Individual licenses may be associated with computer assets, providing a means to track who should be using the license.

Application Packaging and Testing Workflow.  An application packager may be assigned to a software item, and a tester may be assigned.  Each person/team can record a log of activities, and reports are available to indicate which packages are where in the release workflow.

Software Compatibility Reports.  Software items can be flagged with compatibility ratings (e.g. for Windows Vista) – driving reports that ease in planning for a migration.

Internal and Vendor Support Contact Database.  Support contacts for software applications can be tracked in the iMX software catalog.
