Atlanta, April 30th - iVision, a leading technology management consultancy, announced recently the milestone of reducing 300 physical servers down to 10 for a virtualized to physical server consolidation ratio of approximately 30:1 for Kilpatrick Stockton LLP.

Kilpatrick Stockton LLP is a full-service international law firm with nearly 500 attorneys in nine offices across the globe: Atlanta and Augusta, GA; Charlotte, Raleigh and Winston-Salem, NC; New York, NY; Washington, DC; Dubai, and Stockholm, Sweden.  In September 2008, the firm became a signatory for the ABA/EPA Law Office Climate Challenge.   They were the 1st AmLaw 100 firm based in Atlanta to sign on to this robust environmental policy.   As a signatory in the program, the firm has agreed to implement all three components of the Climate Challenge: the Energy Star Program, the Green Power Partnership Program, and the WasteWise Program. For more information on the ABA/EPA Law Office Climate Challenge, please visit www.abanet.org/environ/climatechallenge.

This milestone has far exceeded objectives of the ABA/EPA Law Office Climate Challenge but has also established the foundation to save the firm over 2.5 million in capital and operating costs for server hardware, software and administration costs over the next 3-4 years.   Additionally, this milestone has enabled the firm to establish a more manageable platform for business continuity and further lower their operating expenditures long-term.

Carol Hall, Information Technology Director for Kilpatrick Stockton LLP commented on this achievement saying, “Due to the technical depth and breadth iVision brought to the table, they were able to help shape the vision and deploy the solution to centralize and virtualize our environment. This has lead to numerous benefits including operational and capital savings, standardization, decreasing the time to meet the firm’s business and client needs, and enhanced disaster recovery with business continuity.”

Kilpatrick Stockton LLP has achieved an 80% server virtualization as of April 2009 and continues momentum building a more sustainable and green Information Technology environment for tomorrow.
