iVision Commits to raise $15,000 for Autism Speaks
June 3rd, 2009 8:05am (EST) - iVision, a leading technology management consultancy, recently announced their commitment to raise $15,000 for Autism Speaks, an organization dedicated to funding global biomedical research for autism and raising public awareness about the disorder and its effects on individuals, families and society.
Autism is the second most common developmental disorder in the United States affecting one in every 150 children born today. Despite some promising discoveries, the cause of autism is unknown and a cure does not exist. Research is crucial. Every 20 minutes another child is diagnosed with autism.
"We are proud to support Autism Speaks and the families that are touched by this puzzling condition. Today, 39 out of 50 states exclude coverage for critical services that put these children on the path to recovery” says CEO, Gabe Damiani. “Consistent insurance support across all states will have a positive impact and put these children on the path of recovery they deserve. “
