iVision is seeking a Microsoft AD/Exchange Engineer for an immediate 4+ month contract opening. The must have a board technical background with the Microsoft Windows Server operating system and Directory Services. The Engineer will support a team of engineers with the migration of approximately 6,000 users to a single AD forest. The engagement will leverage an automated toolset to replace an otherwise resource intensive, highly manual and error prone process of migrating users from one AD Domain to another. The person will be responsible for developing and running the automated toolset to migrate the AD objects, resource updating and execution of post migration routines to provide minimal user downtime. This individual will perform in a technical role in the development and execution of the migration routines as well as a customer facing role in addressing support issues with the end users.
Required Skills and Experience
• 3+ years’ experience with Microsoft Windows 2003 and 2008 operating systems and Active Directory Services. • Deep knowledge of Group Policy Objects • Deep knowledge of Windows Operating System desktop user profile. • 3+ years’ experience with the migration of users from one AD Forest to another • Deep knowledge of the Windows 7 Operating System – including the registry, file system, UAC, profile management, etc. • Intense sense of urgency and ability to work quickly and accurately to provide a fast turnaround on build and change requests • Scripting knowledge including VBscript, PowerShell, etc. is required • Excellent and professional written and verbal communication is required • Experience with client and profile management solutions such as Group Policy Preferences, AppSense, etc. • Desktop and application virtualization experience – e.g. with Microsoft, Citrix, VMware, Quest, etc. • Ability to independently and effectively manage own time to meet committed dates to customers, and to • Consultant must possess expert-level knowledge of the technologies, to be validated through a technical interview
